Song: "Read Your Mind" - Avant
Claire needed this. Badly.
After a long week at work, mindlessly going from her cubicle to the printer then to her supervisor's office, Claire needed to unwind. She'd jumped at Ally's invite to hit up the new club that had opened downtown. Though she was normally quiet and well behaved, she had a darker, edgier side that all but craved new and different things.
From what she'd been told, it was formal but laid back and chill, and she wanted to dress to impress. Her favorite black mini skirt one piece with the leopard print belt was snatched out of the closer along with black studded heels. She finger combed her wavy black hair, dabbed perfume on, and ran out the door.
"This is place is fucking awesome!" Jenni yelled over the bass of whatever song was playing. Claire had to agree with Jenni though - the club was amazing. Neon strobe lights danced over the crowd. Fog emitters gave the floor a spooky yet awesome haze as bubble blowers nailed the fun atmosphere.
"Drinks!" One of them called out, and they flocked to the closest bar. Claire straggled behind, taking in the scenery - the place was absolutely beautiful! Large statues stood in various places, adding to the club's elegance.
"Beautiful." A deep, warm voice spoke near her ear, making her jump. She spun around, ready to give the man a piece of her mind about personal boundaries, but fell short of words. He was tall and lean, like an athlete, dressed very sharply in an impressive gray suit.
If he didn't look like a CEO, no one ever would. She realized he was still looking at her, like he expected her to do something. The amusement on his face was undeniable. Had she done something wrong? "Um, yeah." She remembered she'd been looking at the statues, "They are beautiful, huh?"
His chuckle did things to her that no man had done before. "They are, but pale in comparison to you." After seeing her wide eyed, open mouth reaction, he added, "I'm not hitting on you - just being honest and sharing my opinion." Still receiving no response, he dipped his head in a quick bow and made a hasty retreat.
"Whoa." She muttered and heard a loud cheer. At the bar, her friends were lined up, taking shots. Great, I'm the designated driver, she groaned.
A/N: I went to sleep and now I don't know where I was going with this or how I planned to bring the mystery guy back in.
